Auto Value Michigan Swing Kicks Off at Berlin Raceway

For the first time this season, the 500 Sprint Car Tour will go north to the State of Michigan. Since the inception of the series in 2022, the 500 Sprint Car Tour has made regular stops at tracks in Michigan. With an excited fan base, and sponsor support, Michigan has become known as the second home of the 500 Sprint Car Tour. Now, four races into the 2025 season, the series heads to one of its Flagship Tracks, Berlin Raceway.

Berlin Raceway played host to the second ever 500 Sprint Car Race in 2022. Since then, the track has been a fixture on the schedule with two races each season. In 2025, the 500 Sprint Car Tour made a move to only visit Berlin Raceway once to make room for new venues. The move creates a new sense of urgency for the competitors to do what has never been done since the series began racing, beat Tyler Roahrig at Berlin Raceway.

Tyler Roahrig has won every 500 Sprint Car Tour event at Berlin Raceway over the last three seasons. With previously having multiple races at the Michigan track, teams and drivers had multiple chances to figure out what makes Roahrig so good at Berlin and to try to beat him. Now, those same teams and drivers have one shot to take down the Michigan King.

Jake Trainor with his Matt Seymour Racing team are making the drive west from Massachusetts for the event. Trainor gave Roahrig his biggest competition that he had seen at Berlin Raceway. In last year's Berlin race, Trainor took the lead away at the start of the race and led the first 25 laps. Roahrig was able to get around but Trainor finished a close second. Trainor will be looking to be one step higher on the podium this Saturday.

Dakoda Armstrong enters the race with a point lead of 22 points over Bobby Santos. Armstrong and Santos have both gone to victory lane at Anderson Speedway and Toledo Speedway respectively. Kody Swanson is the Tour’s most recent winner at Winchester Speedway. Swanson’s best finish at Berlin is 3rd. He has finished 3rd on three separate occasions at Berlin since 2022.

Michigan natives Joe Bares and Taylor Ferns are both entered into their home states race. Bares will be making his first 500 Sprint Car Tour start with Karl Schwarz and team. Schwarz has fielded a car for many years. Ferns is a veteran of the Tour and will be looking to continue her recent success of a 2nd place finish at Winchester Speedway.

Other entries include Derek Bischak, Cord Ehrhart, Donnie Adams Jr., Matt Dimit, Olivia Shelbo, Landon Butler, Jackson Macenko, Nathan Byrd, Tony Main, Brady Allum and more.

Faith & Family Night is set for Saturday, July 19th at Berlin Raceway. The 500 Sprint Car Tour will be joined by the USSA Kenyon Midget Series, Good Humor Mini Wedges, and Modell Coverall Limited Late Models. Pit gates will open at 1:00pm with hot laps beginning at 4:00pm. Qualifying will begin at 6:30pm and racing is set to begin at 7:00pm. Adults are $16 in advance and $22 on race day.
