About the tour…
The yourBIGplans.com 500 Sprint Car Tour was created out of a shared desire to grow and preserve the legacy of pavement non-wing sprint car racing. Founded and managed by Anderson Speedway, the Tour continues the track’s long-standing commitment to showcasing the most thrilling and competitive open-wheel racing in the Midwest.
Anderson Speedway — home of the world’s most prestigious pavement sprint car event, the Unified Group Services Little 500 — remains at the heart of the Tour’s identity. The same powerful, non-wing sprint cars that battle for victory every Memorial Day Weekend in the Little 500 compete throughout the Tour season, bringing that same energy and intensity to short tracks across the region.
These cars are pure racing machines — lightweight, high-horsepower open-wheel sprints capable of incredible speed and close, side-by-side competition. Each event delivers the kind of excitement and tradition that has defined pavement sprint car racing for generations.
Founded in 2022, the 500 Sprint Car Tour continues to grow each year, strengthening its schedule and partnerships to build the future of open-wheel racing. The Tour has also expanded its connection with the Kenyon Midget Series, working together to develop young talent and create a clear path for drivers to advance through the ranks of pavement open-wheel competition.
From early April through mid-October, top drivers from across the country compete for victories, pride, and championship glory at historic short tracks throughout the Midwest. The 500 Sprint Car Tour isn’t just a racing series — it’s a community, a legacy, and a vital part of ensuring that open-wheel racing continues to thrive for generations to come.
