Doubleheader Weekend Caps off Auto Value Michigan Swing

For the second consecutive season, the 500 Sprint Car Tour will be holding a doubleheader weekend in the state of Michigan. In 2024, the series visited Kalamazoo Speedway and Berlin Raceway on back to back nights. This year, the series will visit Kalamazoo Speedway once again before heading straight to Owosso Speedway for the first time the very next night. The two races will put an end to the 2025 Auto Value Michigan Swing.

Through three and a half seasons of competition for the 500 Sprint Car Tour, Tyler Roahrig has won every race ever contested in the State of Michigan. When the series visited Kalamazoo Speedway for the first time in 2024, Roahrig left with a convincing three second victory over Kody Swanson. Roahrig followed that victory up with another victory at Berlin Raceway the following night. With one Michigan victory already under his belt in 2025, a repeat victory at Kalamazoo is already in sight with a first time victory at Owosso potentially hanging in the balance.

In recent attempts, Kody Swanson has been able to close the gap to Roahrig’s dominance at the Michigan tracks. In the most recent event at Berlin Raceway, Swanson led nearly a quarter of the race and lost to Roahrig by one second. By far the closest margin of victory for Roahrig at Berlin Raceway. After a strong performance at Kalamazoo Speedway in 2024, and with a win under his belt in 2025, can this be the time that someone new can cross the border and also cross the finish line in first place.

A handful of new faces will find their way onto the 500 Sprint Car Tour grid this weekend. Joe Bares will make his second consecutive start for Schwarz racing after making his debut at Berlin Raceway. Brian Tyler also makes his second start this season after a debut event at Winchester Speedway. Tyler’s son, Robert, will be making his 500 Sprint Car Tour debut at Kalamazoo Speedway. Not new to the series, but new to this car, Billy Wease will be getting behind the wheel of the #26 Sam Pierce Racing machine. This will be his second start of the season after driving for Meyer Auto Research (#40) at Toledo Speedway. Anthony Nocella will also be making his 500 Sprint Car Tour debut. He has competed in two Little 500’s, but will make his first start in a points earning event. All of these competitors have entered into both the Kalamazoo Speedway and Owosso Speedway events.

Other notable entries for this weekend’s double header include: Derek Bischak, Dakoda Armstrong, Donnie Adams Jr., Matt Dimit, Davey Hamilton Jr., Jackson Macenko, Nathan Byrd, Justin Harper, Taylor Ferns, Kyle O’Gara, and Bobby Santos III.
