Ovid, Michigan – The yourBIGplans.com 500 Sprint Car Tour event scheduled for Saturday, August 1, at Owosso Speedway has been postponed due to the forecast for persistent rain throughout the day.

After evaluating the weather and track conditions Saturday morning, Owosso Speedway officials made the difficult decision to cancel the event. While there are expected to be brief windows of opportunity throughout the day, the forecast does not provide a long enough window to dry the 3/8-mile oval and maintain suitable racing conditions.

The yourBIGplans.com 500 Sprint Car Tour and Owosso Speedway will work together to determine a rescheduled date for the event. Details regarding the makeup date will be announced as soon as they are finalized.

The yourBIGplans.com 500 Sprint Car Tour will return to action on Saturday, August 15, at Salem Speedway for the 68th Annual Joe James/Pat O’Connor Memorial.

Additional information regarding the rescheduled Owosso Speedway event will be released once a new date has been established.
