The yourBIGplans.com 500 Sprint Car Tour returns to Berlin Raceway on Friday, August 28. The battle at the 7/16-mile oval is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated races of the 2026 season.
An 18-car field is currently entered for the return to Marne, Michigan, with a mix of championship contenders, established Tour winners and several drivers looking to make their mark at one of the series' most demanding venues.
But one name continues to stand above the rest when the yourBIGplans.com 500 Sprint Car Tour comes to Berlin.
Roahrig Returns to His Favorite Track
Tyler Roahrig will return to the cockpit of the No. 56 CB Fabricating entry after a disappointing ending to this year's Unified Group Services Little 500 at Anderson Speedway.
Roahrig was in contention during the closing stages of the 78th Annual Little 500 before a late-race incident ended his night. Now, the Plymouth, Indiana, driver gets an opportunity to answer back at a track where he has been unbeatable.
Roahrig has won all six yourBIGplans.com 500 Sprint Car Tour races ever contested at Berlin Raceway. His six victories make him the only driver to win at the track in Tour competition, continuing a remarkable streak that dates back to the series' first visits to Berlin in 2022.
His most recent Berlin victory came last season when he battled his way past Kody Swanson and then pulled away late to capture the 50-lap feature.
Now, Roahrig will look to make it seven-for-seven.
Can Swanson Finally Take Down Roahrig?
If anyone has consistently been close to challenging Roahrig at Berlin, it has been Kody Swanson.
The No. 33 NB Bohanon Versa Lift Rentals entry returns to Berlin with one of the strongest resumes in the field. Swanson has already enjoyed a spectacular 2026 season, including victories in the Glen Niebel Classic (Anderson Speedway), Joe James/Pat O’Connor Memorial (Salem Speedway) and the Unified Group Services Little 500 (Anderson Speedway).
Swanson also spent much of the previous Berlin race within striking distance of Roahrig, keeping pressure on the No. 56 through much of the feature before Roahrig found clean air in the closing laps.
With another opportunity ahead, Swanson will be looking to turn another strong Berlin performance into his first Tour victory at the Michigan oval.
O’Gara Looking to Finish the Job
Kyle O’Gara returns to Berlin Raceway with plenty of unfinished business.
The Camby, Indiana, driver will pilot the No. 67 for PFH Racing, returning to a track where he has steadily improved with each visit. O’Gara has shown the speed to challenge Tyler Roahrig at Berlin and will once again be looking to find a way to knock the No. 56 from the top step of the podium.
O’Gara enters Friday’s race with plenty of experience at Berlin. He finished third last season and came in 2nd in the 2023 July race.
But Kyle won't be the only O’Gara racing at Berlin.
His nephew, Danny O’Gara, will also be in action Friday night with the Kenyon Midget Series. The 12-year-old has wasted little time making an impact in the series, scoring victories at the Indianapolis Speedrome and Salem Speedway while adding a third-place finish at Anderson Speedway in his first three starts.
With both O’Garas set to compete at Berlin, Friday night will be a special family affair and both will have their sights set on victory lane.
Macenko Looking for Another Victory
Jackson Macenko enters Berlin with plenty of momentum after becoming the most recent first-time winner of the 2026 season.
The Cincinnati, Ohio, driver and Brad Hayes Racing team captured the Tom Bigelow Showdown at Winchester Speedway earlier this season, putting the No. 24 JTM Food Group machine in victory lane.
Macenko will now look to carry that momentum into Michigan and become the first driver other than Roahrig to win a 500 Sprint Car Tour race at Berlin. On top of his 500 Sprint Car Tour commitments he will also be running a Kenyon Midget for Brad Hayes Racing.
A Strong Group of Challengers
The field doesn't stop with the established stars.
Dakoda Armstrong returns in the No. 1 C&A Motorsports entry, while Kyle O'Gara brings the No. 67 PFH Racing machine back to Berlin. O'Gara has steadily closed the gap to Roahrig at the track, progressing from struggling to stay on the lead lap during his first visit to challenging for the lead in subsequent appearances.
Other notable entries for the event include: Derek Bischak, Donnie Adams Jr., Bobby Santos III, Nathan Byrd, Justin Harper, Tyler Fitzpatrick, Rylan Gray, Tony Main, and Brady Allum.
Race Information
The 50 Lap feature at Berlin Raceway is set for Friday, August 28. Pit gates will open at 1:00 p.m., with spectator gates and hot laps beginning at 4:00 p.m. Racing is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
